Founded on May 25, 1931, the Beta Nu chapter of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia has served as the premier music fraternity on the campus at the University of Northern Iowa and continues to this day. We continually strive to make better men and better musicians out of each other and out of ourselves.

We live through our object which is as follows:
"The object of this fraternity shall be for the development of the best and truest fraternal spirit, the mutual welfare and brotherhood of musical students, the advancement of music in America, and a loyalty to the Alma Mater"
We as Sinfonian men do our best to uphold these ideals and bring credit to the ideals of Phi Mu Alpha.
The Beta Nu Chapter has served UNI for years. You may see us around campus singing at the Campanile, hosting the Tallcorn Jazz Festival every February, and at our concerts and Mills Music Missions we put on throughout the semester.
